“Had I the time,” wrote Benjamin Franklin, at the close of a long letter to a friend, ” I would have written a shorter letter.”
The short story is a style in which the full arc of a story develops from beginning to end in a few pages only. So many children’s tales, Grimms, and many other allegories, and mythic tales, are traceable in style to the oral tradition and assume the short narrative form.
As a further expansion of this blog dedicated to daily reflections on practical spirituality, I begin this series of shorts with the same focus. I will develop them as occasional publications to the blog. I do hope you enjoy them and I welcome your comments and reactions.

I have posted a few short stories on my blog but I am not sure where anymore!!!
I don’t often write short stories, as such, but some of the strange incidents I’ve witnessed or experienced make good stories. I often have a session of telling ghost stories with my more advanced language students.

Fantastic. I love the short narrative. The best stories are so often based on what might seem quite innocent and ever so simple experience. I’ll look through your archives and see if I can find some of those.

A hazard of the medium I think. Before long, the number of posts grows exponentially. Hope you locate them. That’s what my paper files and desktop are like. I go on hunting missions frequently.
